Objectives

The Congress operates following these objectives

  • To create and maintain a supportive and enabling environment for Black women and their families and to foster a sense of sisterhood.
  • To provide leadership for our Black youth.
  • To plan and implement programs and activities to assist in meeting identified needs in a manner that recognizes and respects individual dignity.
  • To provide a network of solidarity and liaison with local, national and international organizations; whose purpose and objectives are similar to those of the Congress.
  • To act as a resource in facilitating harmonious understanding between our community, government bodies and others.
  • To play an advocacy role in education.
  • To liaise with other organizations and community resources whose purpose and objectives are similar to those of the Chapter.
  • To heighten visibility of the work of the Congress of Black Women of Canada throughout the province.
